Snow WEEK!

I can't believe we had another beautiful snowfall and I didn't take any pictures.  This pictures I didn't take, but it is true, we received over 8 inches of snow on January 10th.  Then it rained and sleeted on top of that.  Monday and Tuesday the temperature did not reach above freezing.  In fact after it rained and sleeted the 8 inches of snow turned into about 5 inches of ice and 3 inches of snow on the bottom.  Wednesday and Thursday the temperature got above freezing, but dropped down at night only to make the roads a mess come morning time.  School was canceled ALL week and luckily Mike was able to work from home (and 2/4 kids were sick!)

This week was fun and difficult all at the same time.  I am extremely grateful for a warm house, for warm blankets and hot chocolate.  I am grateful that Mike didn't have to go to work in such treacherous conditions.  I am grateful that I got to snuggle up with my kids and watch lots of movies.  I am also grateful for the excuse to not do a lot of housework!  It was a nice and unexpected break.

A False Start

Monday January 3rd rolled around and I prepared my kids' lunches, got them up out of bed and ready on time.  They went out to the bus stop.  I wondered where the other kids were, perhaps they were running behind.  My friend down the street called me and said, "Didn't you know that the kids have another day off?"  Kason and I found humor in the situation...Madison not so much.
