Something to live by

“Cleaning house while kids are growing is like shoveling snow while it’s still snowing.”

I have heard this many times before, but now know the full extent of it.  I am trying to cherish them while they are young - to try to listen, to laugh, to teach, to learn from them, to just talk with them.  These things are FAR more important that a Martha Stewart clean house.

Flu Round #2

Kailyn came down with the flu today, luckily I had a doctor's appointment so she was treated right away.  All of us our on Tami Flu to prevent or lessen the blow if we do get it.  This makes twice this season we have had the flu hit us.  I am grateful for medicine and a great doctor who we can trust who knows our family well.  I am also grateful for quiet moments after a hectic day with the kids :)

Family History

Those who know me know that I LOVE family history.  That is really an understatement...I am addicted to the search.  I love to score census records and look for all the children that have been left off somewhere.  Once I even think about my ancestors I literally can't stop thinking about them.  I have found a special connection with them and I am very grateful for all of the hardships that have molded my family, and have molded me.  I am especially grateful for my grandmother Wanda, who has has the love of genealogy deep in her veins for years.  She showed me the ropes and has shared so many stories with me.  I am glad we share this quest together!
