Phillips' family

I am so grateful for my family. Each year on my grandmother's side of the family , we get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. As an adult I am getting to know them better and am grateful that my kids are getting to know them too.

The kids - Caleb Hamby, Kason, Emma & Kate Maples, Madison & Tyler (and Mike's arm)

Phillips Four - Janet, David, Daisy & Wanda. This was taken at Uncle Randy's funeral on Tuesday.

Hi Beautiful!

I can truly listen to Tyler say "Hi Beautiful!" all day long.

My dad said, "Hi Beautiful!" to Kailyn about 2 weeks ago. Tyler immediatley picked up on it. He seems to know the perfect time to say it and who to say it too. For example, when he is supposed to be napping in his room, he goes to the door and says, "Hi Beautiful Mommy!" He only says it to his sisters or me, or his little girlfriend Ava. When he says it he gets a sheepish grin on his face. What a cutie!

You Make Me Smile

Kason's smile is contagious! He can always make me smile, even when he is in trouble. It is hard to believe that he is 5 now! Where has the time gone?

Just wanted to share my favorite quote -

"It is not the years in your life that count, it is the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln

Thanksgiving

Mike's family has an early Thanksgiving every year to accommodate us since we have a big family gathering on my side of the family on Thanksgiving day. My parents and grandmother come, and we also invite Crystal's family. I am so thankful that we have so much family close by and that we all get along so well. Not every family can say that the in-laws get along! I am so grateful for all the support of our family, that they play at active role in my children's lives. I love to see them sitting down together reading books and playing games. I love that the grandparents come to soccer games, swim meets, and school functions. We are so blessed!

Speaking also of blessings...I went out with the sister missionaries last night. I have a new respect for missionaries. We probably talked to a total of 10 people and I was exhausted. The sisters have a special spirit about them and are able to help others feel the Spirit as well. Each time I go out with the missionaries, my testimony is strengthened. I have a fresh look on my life and the things that are important to me - my relationship with my Savior and my family. I am grateful for the church and for the missionaries. They love the Lord so much that they want to share that with everyone. If we all had that love in our hearts the world would be a better place. May we all have love in our hearts this season as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Powdered Sugar Wonderland

I thought this was the perfect way to start my blog!

I was talking to my good friend Gwen on the phone the other day. I had just hung up the phone when Tyler (who is now 2) came to me and said, "Uh-oh Mommy!" His orange shirt had a white powder all over it and he was busy licking his finger. At first I thought it was baby formula and could feel my blood pressure rise. That stuff is expensive! To my relief I quickly learned that it was only powdered sugar, like the whole bag of powdered sugar dumped on the floor. He was only out of my site for 1 or 2 minutes. I had to take a picture of the mess!

And yes he is wearing a shirt that says, "My parents are exhausted!"
