Our 14 Hour Drive

Mike left Monday March 29th to do the final walk through on the house. Meanwhile, the movers came that day and started packing up all our stuff. Needless to say it was great to have them pack everything up while I read a book and answered questions that they had. Mike worked weird hours Monday and Tuesday in Atlanta, then closed on Wednesday morning, flew back home that night. I took the kids out of school a day earlier than I had originally planned because our happy go-lucky son was starting to have behavior problems at school. So we left the morning of the first at 4:30 a.m. With Sobe and 5-hour Energy drinks, Mike was able to drive most of the way. He actually preferred to drive for 3 reasons: 1 - he gets car sick as a passenger, 2- he didn't have to entertain children and 3 - he could wear earphones and drown all of the children (and frustrated wife's) noises out.

Here are some great things I remember most about our trip:

Tyler - "Look Mom, I am brushing my teeth with my lollipop."

Kailyn - She was REALLY upset because we had been in the car way too long, so she was screaming. I turned on Jungle Book to try to get her to calm down. So we heard, "WAAAA!" then "Arrh!" whenever she saw any animals. That is her "animal" noise when she doesn't know what it says.

Madison - She made up a song with all the states that we past through, "Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia" Tyler even knew the words before we reached Alabama.

Kason - He was so good. I just kept him fed and some kind of screen (DVD or Nintendo DS) in front of him and he was good to go.

I am so glad that I bought a dual DVD player for the car that could play 2 different movies.

I am also thankful for children's Bonine. It worked wonders for me and the children.

I am just glad we are finally here!
